Happy birthday America!

250 years

250 years of fighting for democracy, for a new way of living, for freedom.

250 years of standing for human rights, liberty, justice, for the freedom of speech, the press, assembly, bearing arms & religion.

250 years of fighting for the rights of not just our own people, but those opressed an other soils of foreign lands.

250 years of messing up, figuring it out, trying new things & always getting back up to fight another day.

250 years of of home-grown patriots.

250 years of becoming a home for those who sought a better, free-er life.

250 years of exploration and discovery, climbing new mountains, sailing new rivers, of westward expansion, of seeking new heights, even to the moon.

250 years of growth on American soils, of learning to tend the land from those who came before, of beef and chicken, corn & homegrown tomatoes, fields of amber grain & groves of fruit trees.

America, My America, Our America, Land that I Love, may God always protect thy people & lands, may justice and freedon never forsake thy shores, may the lost always find home in thy arms & the opressed always find help from thy hands. May the youngest and the least know the comfort of thy gaze and may the enemies of liberty & freedom know the terror of thy justice & defense.

May you never cease to defend your borders for your people within them, yet never forget to bring mercy to those who knock at your door.

America, my great nation, never dim in true patriotism -- not that of arrogant pride but that of humble gratitude, recognizing always that your independence comes from dependence on the Divine. Do not merely guard your wealth, your lands, your freedoms as a dragon guards its hoard in fire, but share these willingly to thus bless the world as God has blessed thee.
